On Friday night, September 8, 2017, Guns N’ Roses will fill the Alamodome stands with fans across generations who love rock music. The SA Current points out that reviews of their recent live shows have been very positive, and to top it off, Texas legends ZZ Top will open the show, making for a once-in-a-lifetime event that will blow the roof off of the Alamodome.

But with a gas shortage in the area combined with the amount of time it takes many San Antonio residents to drive to the Alamodome and idle while waiting to pull into a parking spot, quite a bit of gas could be used just to make it to and from the show. To help quell the problem, KSAT writes that the city’s bus system, VIA, will offer a Park & Ride service to and from the Alamodome for $2.50 per person, each way.

The Park & Ride location will be at 151 Crossroads Boulevard (northeast of the Alamodome.) Buses will start leaving at 5:00 p.m. and make return trips for an hour after the show. Regular bus passes won’t work for the special service, but “you can pre-purchase Park & Ride tickets on VIA’s goMobile app or at the Park & Ride location. Cash and credit cards are accepted…VIAtrans customers and children under the age of 5 ride for free,” KSAT explains.
