Hold onto your hats ‘cause “this is gangsta!” The Food Network’s reigning king has been filming in Houston since January 9 for future episodes of his hit show, “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.” Guy Fieri, the chef with the big personality and “off the hook” ability to describe a great dish has made a return visit to the Bayou City since last filming there in 2009. “That’s bananas…and bananas is good.”

On his last visit, stops included the Red Lion Pub, Niko Niko’s, Lankford Grocery, Café Pita+, and Kenny & Ziggy’s. In his only tweet since arriving, this celebrity chef is seen standing with Houston Astros’ former first baseman, Jeff Bagwell, outside at Irma’s Original. But his social media accounts weren’t the only ones keeping tabs – Fieri was also spotted hanging with former Oilers’ quarterback, Dan Pastorini, at Cuchara the following day, and The Woodlands/ Spring area Tx. Foodie Club on Facebook posted details of his visit to Q-Shi (a restaurant blending barbecue and sushi!) When you come to Texas, you expect nothing but the best, and it looks like “this is money.”

In addition to these stops, his itinerary has included three other Houston restaurants that highlight its “out of bounds” diversity, including Café Lili, Cool Runnings, and The Original Marini’s Empanada House. There have been no notifications or social media tags for any other additional stops for Fieri, nor mention of proposed air time for the Houston episodes. Fieri will return to the city to host The Players Tailgate Party before the Super Bowl on February 5, and when he does, how much you wanna bet he’ll be “riding the bus to Flavortown”?!
