H-E-B has long been a Texas mainstay in the grocery department and a proven community support. When Hurricane Harvey hit hard, the company stepped up to the plate, helping community members throughout the state. Once again, the chain is proving it stands behind those who helped to make it what it is today, and it’s giving back to Texas communities and food banks during National Hunger Month.

Throughout the month of September, through the Food Bank Assistance Program, H-E-B has worked toward their goal to donate food to Texas food banks. 18 food banks throughout the state will receive 124K boxes of Hill Country Fare Corn Flakes on two dozen pallets. These include sites in San Antonio and Austin, in the Texas Hill Country, South Texas, the Gulf Coast, West Texas, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and Tyler. This is only one of their initiatives in support of this effort, having stated in a recent press release that in support of Texas Food Banks, H-E-B raised money to support 3 million meals! “H‑E‑B’s Help End Hunger in-store donation campaign has been a component of the company’s Food Bank Assistance Program, which gives customers the opportunity to help their local food bank in the fight against hunger,” their release said.
