H-E-B to Open New High End Convenience Store
Looks like the Buc-ee’s Beaver is about to have some new competition on his hands, with H-E-B investing in a new $2.7 million San Antonio full-service convenience store.
It’ll include a gas station, car wash and Wendy’s fast food restaurant, according to a recent report that discovered new filings with the State of Texas for a business permit. H-E-B spokeswoman Dya Campos won’t let up on the details just yet, but we can expect the experiment to include a 7,000+ square foot space, which is more than half the size of its smallest grocery store.
Truly, everything’s bigger in the Texas Hill Country.
The details of the popular grocer’s newest plans have surfaced amidst other developments on the 21-acre property — located at Bandera Road/Loop 1604 — that will also include a Fuddruckers, Conn’s and Academy Sports + Outdoors.
According to Virtual Builder’s Exchange, who first reported the massive mini-mart, H-E-B intends on providing its customers coffee, soda and snacks among other typical gas station fare. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for some locally procured beef jerky.
According to state filings, the store’s will be completed in March later this year.
