Hatchimals Aim to Remain the Big Christmas Toy This Year With Twins
Last Christmas, parents were waiting in long lines, calling stores, and paying inflated prices for Hatchimals on eBay. The toy, which features imaginary creatures that peck their way out of their colorful eggs, was deemed the “it” toy of 2016, and now, ABC 13 writes that Hatchimals want to remain at the top of the food chain.
Inside of the new eggs are twins! Spin Master, the company that makes Hatchimals, said in a press release that “Hatchimals Surprise features new eggs, a new hatching process and new species. Like the original Hatchimals launched in 2016, kids can care for the egg and guess who’s inside! They can’t hatch without your love, and when your Hatchimals is ready to hatch, the big surprise is revealed…it’s TWINS!”
RealSimple.com says that the eggs are larger than last years’ crop, and the hatching won’t take nearly on hour any longer. It should only last about 7 – 15 minutes, and the babies will pop through the top instead of the sides.
According to ABC 13, Target looks to already be sold out of their store exclusive version of the toy, and Walmart and Toys R Us are already experiencing shortages of their site-specific twins.
