In a live performance video, Stoney LaRue has released his song entitled “Hill Country Boogaloo” on the StoneyLaRueVEVO YouTube channel. With a mellow blues-like vibe to it, the video immerses viewers in the type of atmosphere and live event that one would expect from this artist and from the Texas Hill Country.

As one of the songs found on his newest album “Onward,” LaRue’s latest track release speaks to the type of dancing, music, and experiences that one can come to expect from the Hill Country. Recognizing some epic landmarks throughout Texas (such as John T. Floore’s Country Store and Gruene Hall), LaRue also pays homage to the Guadalupe River and even Lone Star Beer.

LaRue has long been recognized in Texas as a singer of the Red Dirt genre. Born in Taft, Texas, and raised in Oklahoma, he has since come back to his Lone Star State roots for a career that has spanned almost two decades. He has eight albums to his credit, and “Onward” is the first to be released in over four years. On it, he partners with Tanya Tucker for the song “Meet Me in the Middle,” as well as a cover of the Merle Haggard tune “Let’s Chase Each Other Around the Room.” The album was produced by Gary Nicholson, and LaRue penned the majority of songs on the album, the quality of which comes shining through.
