Downtown Luckenbach is the Texas Hill Country legend you’ve often read about, not to mention heard of in song. It’s now famous for yet another great thing – the Hill Country Food Truck Festival, currently in its 5th year. The tiny hamlet which is home to a general store, tavern, and a dance hall will soon play host to this tasty food festival on wheels!

Scheduled for Saturday, June 23, visitors to the festival can sit a spell at the Luckenbach General Store, under the shade of centuries-old oak trees, and sample the wares of more than a dozen food trucks from throughout the Hill Country. From 12 noon until 8 p.m. (or until the cuisine is sold-out), these mobile sources of snack-bar dining will be serving something for all tastes. Options include authentic German, Mexican, and Mediterranean cuisine, pizza, Texas barbecue, and a variety of desserts to tempt the sweet tooth in all of us!

A variety of wineries from the Texas Hill Country will also be on hand, offering free tastings as well as selling your favorites by the bottle or glass (also from noon until 8 p.m. or until sold-out). Participating wineries include Kissing Tree Vineyard, Becker Vineyards, Texas Legato, Waco Winery, and Texas Hills Vineyard, to name a few. Live music will also be happening throughout the course of the day, including such acts as The Merles, Vanessa Lynn Bird, and Cash’d Out, among others. All ages are welcome to attend. Event proceeds benefit the Texas Center for Wine and Culinary Arts. Tickets are $15 per person, with kids under 12 having free admission, and festival-goers can purchase tickets in advance at the link provided here, or at the gate.
