Following decades of speculation, something wicked will finally this way come…this time to the Disney Channel as opposed to the silver screen. Fans of the “Hocus Pocus” movie starring Bette Middler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker are finally getting an answer to their questions and requests to see more of the Sanderson sisters in a sequel to the wildly popular cult favorite – only now it’s proposed as a remake, with a completely different cast.

Filmed in 1993, the movie went on to great success with young and old alike, and almost three decades later, Deadline has reported that a sequel in the form of a reimagining of sorts is now in development as a T.V. movie.

Starting from scratch, the new cast will have a new script, written by Scarlett Lacey who also wrote for “The Royals,” and will have the benefit of David Kirschner, the original producer of the first film, returning as executive producer. Both Middler and Parker had previously commented on the possibility of a “Hocus Pocus” sequel during separate interviews, however, there has been no discussion with respect to whether this was in fact broached with the three original actresses. Fans across the country will be eagerly awaiting the results, and we’re sure, if they haven’t already, several of them, including those from Texas, will be making the pilgrimage to Salem, Massachusetts simply to celebrate! “Thackery Binx, what took thee so long?”
