Grape Creek Vineyards continues to excel with their signature blend of Aglianico and Montepulciano. Aglianico is a full-bodied red, produced from a black grape found in southern Italy. These grapes, planted at Grape Creek, reflect warmer climate, lower latitude vinifera grape varietals that originated in Italy. This rustic yet elegant red, featuring complex aromas and flavors of Bing cherry, dark chocolate, and spice pairs well with Texas beef and substantial pasta dishes. The marriage of Montepulciano to Aglianico, while unusual in Italy, holds its own with savory meats and root vegetables and is a pleasure all by itself.
