“The Service From THE OWNER Is Unacceptable!” Nick M. posted on Yelp along with a one-star review, saying that Fluff Bake Bar in Houston was listed as the #8 bakery for cannolis in the city yet didn’t say when he visited.

Like most aspects of Yelp, small business owners don’t have any control over what lists they’re on, nor which photos are posted by users, nor which comments show up first on their business page. Obviously, this is irritating to many owners who receive frantic angry reviews from customers that aren’t always rational.

Fluff Bake Bar owner Rebecca Masson has had enough of the Yelp negativity, so she’s making light of the situation by holding a bake sale inspired by the one-star reviews. Masson told ABC 13 that one customer said their desserts were tasty but seemed to be “made with hate.” This became the slogan for the bake sale, complete with t-shirts that sold quickly.

Masson has received quite a bit of flake on Yelp for her serious demeanor, but hopefully, the recent sale will show customers she has a sense of humor. She told the news, “We took all these reviews, the negative, and turned it into something delicious.”
