This confection cowboy delight is almost too cute to eat. This adorable cowboy cake would be perfect for a child’s party or even for the grown cowboy (or girl) in your family! Thanks to this tutorial from YouTuber Ambaruchii, you can learn how to make your very own!

Ambaruchii starts out by baking two 10″ round cakes and two small ramekins of cake mix. Once the cakes are fully cooked, she removes them from the pans and levels them out with a knife so they’re flat. She fills the layers with cream cheese icing and uses buttercream icing for the outside of the cake.

Next, it’s time to apply the fondant to the entire exterior of the cake and smooth it out. Using horse silhouettes printed on edible paper, Ambaruchii applies them to the sides of the cake. Tip: Applying water to the fondant will help the edible cutouts stick better.

Now for the cowboy hat topper! The top of the hat is made from the ramekin cakes and is covered in ganache. Ambaruchii uses molding chocolate and food coloring to create a covering for the top of the hat and to create the brim. Once chilled, the molding chocolate will stay put in whatever position you have it.

The rope around the base of the cowboy hat and at the border of the cake are created by using molding chocolate dyed yellow.

This cowboy cake is quite the culinary undertaking, but if you enjoy baking, this would be a perfect next project for you.
