Hulu is one of America’s favorite digital entertainment services where customers can stream television shows and movies made from major networks, and sometimes, Hulu themselves. Now, rumor has it that the company will expand their horizons in San Antonio with hundreds of new job opportunities for Texans. At first, Hulu could bring about 350 jobs and then eventually build to around 500 positions in a few years.

MySA.com writes that Mayor Ivy Taylor hinted at meeting with a “major brand” to bring them into the city before she officially commented on the possibility. “We are always actively pursuing companies throughout the U.S. and the world. In this case, we made a pitch for Hulu to expand to San Antonio and bring with it hundreds of good-paying, high-tech jobs,” Taylor told KSAT.

Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff attended the meeting with Hulu executives on Wednesday. “We’ve been working on this for some time. I feel good about it,” he told MySA.com. An anonymous source also spoke with MySA.com and said that San Antonio is in competition with Albuquerque, New Mexico for the expansion, so while it isn’t time to celebrate quite yet, perhaps job seekers should start brushing up on their knowledge about the major streaming service.
