The future of transportation could be just around the corner for revolutionizing travel time between Texas towns. ABC13 of Houston, TX recently reported on a new transportation mode from SpaceX.com described as a “futuristic tube transportation, known as hyperloop” that is garnering the attention of local designers hoping to introduce the latest innovation in travel to Houston.
Looks like those flying cars and robot advances we have seen in the headlines lately aren’t the only inventions manifesting itself into reality. Those movies we race to theaters to capture our attention and take us into another dimension with the futuristic inventions we only dream of may not be so far-fetched after all.
“SpaceX has gained worldwide attention for a series of historic milestones,” shares its website. According to ABC13, Elon Musk, CEO and lead designer who founded SpaceX in 2002, is the mastermind behind this revolutionizing invention that would accelerate the time it would take to get between large distances as it would transport passengers in pods through giant vacuum tubes as quickly as an airplane ride.
A group of architects from the firm Gensler believe this is the future of travel and want Houston, TX to be the testing ground for the project shares ABC13. “They have designed a hyperloop station for east downtown, complete with a spiraling high-rise that will house a hotel, office, apartments and retail.”
Architect Jordan Gomez shared in his interview with ABC13 that he hopes the Hyperloop not only changes cities but the world and connects people across the state. “The Hyperloop One startup is looking at routes to develop, and one of them includes a route between Houston and Dallas,” stated ABC13.com.
