Perhaps it’s a bit too early to get excited, but San Antonio residents can look forward to sleek furniture megastore IKEA building their fifth location in Texas in the Live Oak area.

Those living in San Antonio have wished for a closer location for some time. There’s even a Facebook group formed in 2011 called “Bring IKEA to San Antonio.” One of its 1,983 members, Jeanette Geiman, posted on November 19th, “Will we ever get an IKEA? It’s a long drive to Houston or Round Rock. Sigh…‬”

Almost like magic, IKEA announced its newest location in a press conference on Tuesday morning, days after Geiman’s post. Groundbreaking won’t begin until 2018, but MySA.com reports that they already know the exact location. “The 290,000-square-foot store will be located on 31 acres at the intersection of Loop 1604 and Interstate 35.”

The Swedish furniture seller will create around 250 jobs, and save many Texans a long drive out to other locations, though they’ll have to wait another 2 years or so. Geiman is excited, but not thrilled with the wait. “Two and a half years is a long time and means I’ve got several more drives to Round Rock or Houston,” she wrote on Facebook.
