The New iPhone X and iPhone 8 Have Been Revealed to the Public
It’s finally here! After much anticipation, Apple has revealed images of the iPhone X and pre-ordering for the iPhone 8, their newest models.
The special iPhone X will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the device that’s changed people’s lives. Click2Houston.com describes the anniversary edition phone as having no home button, but “…an edge-to-edge display, glass on the front and back, a surgical grade stainless steel band around the edges. It’s water and dust resistant.” Since the home button has been traded out for more screen space, the fingerprint sensor will no longer be used. Instead, face recognition technology to unlock the phone. Also, a new lighting feature will be offered in portrait mode for perfect selfies.
The Verge states that the iPhone 8 (and it’s bigger companion, the 8 Plus) will still have the classic home button set-up, but will feature wireless charging capabilities (unlike the X). Also, iPhone 7 cases will fit the 8, but not the X.
Along with the new phones comes a new operating system, the iOS 11, which will allow for augmented reality use.
Preorders will begin on September 15 and the devices will be found in stores starting on September 22. Find more information on Apple’s official website.
