Jennifer Garner will soon be making the onscreen shift from romantic comedy roles to an action thriller, starring as a lady who has lost her daughter and husband in a brutal murder. On the 10th anniversary of their death, she gets her revenge on the criminals, which include lawyers and police. The 45-year-old will fill a “female John Wick” void that has been noticeable in Hollywood films, but this won’t be the first time she’s played action.

Meeting her former husband, fellow actor Ben Affleck, while filming the movie “Daredevil,” Garner played the character Elektra, who was chiefly an assassin. Before their marriage, she also played on the ABC action series entitled “Alias,” earning her a number of Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

Shared on the Clips&More4You YouTube Channel, this clip from “Daredevil” shows Garner’s chops in terms of filling an action role, leaving fans no doubt she can carry her own in the action thriller genre. Born in Houston, Texas, in 1972, the actress moved to Charleston, WV, with her family, growing up as a self-described typical middle child. She took up theater at Denison University in Granville, OH. Following a number of notable roles in T.V. and film, her breakout role came with “Alias.” Appearing in films such as “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Draft Day” and “Miracles From Heaven,” she’s proven her ability to meet the demands of filming specific roles, leaving no doubt that “Peppermint” will be a logical next step. With no word yet on a set production time for the new film nor a targeted release date, Garner fans will have to patiently wait to see when and how it all unfolds.
