Like falling snowflakes, Christmas carols drift into every part of our world during this merry season. From department store speakers to church choirs, neighborhood carollers to car radios, the Christmas spirit just wouldn’t be as bright without the soundtrack of seasonal songs playing in the background.

It’s funny, too, how the classic carols stick around year after year. Did Burl Ives ever dream that “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” would be a beloved favorite song for 50 years and counting? Or that the classic “Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole, originally recorded in 1945, would still be regarded as the quitessential ode to Christmas 70 years after its release? And how about all those hymns from biblical times still making the rounds now? Even today, new renditions of these Christmas classics are released each year by a bevy of the world’s musical talent.

Take Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, for instance. Her gorgeous version of “O Holy Night” coupled with Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” will tingle your spine, warm your heart, and  enrich your soul. We dare you not to feel the magic of Christmas after watching this heartfelt performance during a live session in the SiriusXM studios.
