Johnny Manziel Watched the NFL Draft from an Ohio Bar

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. That’s exactly the phrase that sums up this picture of Johnny Manziel watching the NFL draft from a bar.

Footballs fans everywhere tuned into the NFL draft on Thursday, April 28, and so did one surprising person: Johnny Manziel. Only two years ago, Manziel himself was strutting across that draft stage to cheering, adoring fans. Now, in 2016, he sat in a bar alone watching that same draft before a Justin Beiber concert.

Drunk from fame and soon real substance abuse, his partying ways led the Cleveland Browns to dismiss him after his contract began in March 2014. An Ohio radio personality, Will Burge, took the photo which soon went viral on social media.

If anything, Manziel should serve as a cautionary tale to those athletes who don’t have their heads on straight. The day before the draft, as the Houston Chronicle reported, “a Dallas judge set a $1,500 bond for Manziel…[after] he was officially indicted on a count of Class A misdemeanor domestic assault against ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley.”

One can only hope he gets the help he needs, although he may be too far gone down the wrong path.
