Kerr Arts & Cultural Center Seeks the Best Chocolate in the Texas Hill Country

By  |

“Too much of a good thing…” is a good thing when it comes to chocolate! The Kerr Arts & Cultural Center (KACC) celebrates that annually with their Chocolate Fantasy Festival, held on or around Valentine’s Day, and are presently looking for entries for their 2017 event. Executive Director, Debbie Minns, is a Chocolate Fantasy veteran, and she’s looking for those wildcard entries, wins that come from behind, underdogs, and maybe not-so-underdogs (hey, it’s chocolate!) In a recent press release, Minns noted, “I know the Hill Country is full of people with a chocolate recipe that everybody loves. Professional chocolate maker or not, 2017 Chocolate Fantasy is a wonderful time to share that recipe with the community of chocolate-lovers.”

The 2017 theme for the event is “Mesoamerican Art & The Ancient Origins of Chocolate, ” and all interested candidates are welcomed to enter the competition, including chefs and otherwise (you don’t need cooking credentials to get a leg up in the competition). The KACC wants anyone who has a fancy for cooking with chocolate to consider making a submission. According to Minns, “We [KACC] want to honor everything from the best Chocolate cake and candy to the best mystery Chocolate sauce, so anyone who loves Chocolate and creates something unique with it belongs in this competition!”
