A cute little kitten fell into the most unfortunate and unlikely place last week – into the den of a Komodo dragon!

No one seems to know how the tiny kitty with beautiful coloring found itself in the Komodo’s cage at the Fort Worth Zoo, but she most likely came from the nearby Forest Park where many feral cats live. Whenever these cats wander on to Zoo property, they’re taken to the Humane Society of North Texas.

This kitten might have used one of her nine lives already. Komodo dragons are known to eat the meat of small and large animals. Though after she was rushed to the vet, they checked her over and determined she was just fine.

The Humane Society of North Texas posted the lucky cat’s photo on Facebook along with a note that read, “This feisty little girl was luckily, unharmed, she is quite a survivor! Now named Komodo, she is in foster care till she gets big enough for adoption!”

Many commenters are already lining up to take Komodo home when she’s ready. The Star-Telegram quoted the Humane Society’s Philip Gonzalez as saying, “Whoever takes her is going to have a cool story to tell,” and we can’t help but agree.
