Located at 305 Buena Vista Dr. in Marble Falls is beautiful Lakeside Park, on the shore of Lake Marble Falls. With a large oak tree alongside, conveniently set up with a rope swing, it’s easy to see what lining up to take a plunge into the lake on a hot Texas Hill Country day would be nothing short of exhilarating! Of course, if flying from the end of a rope isn’t your style, you can always simply walk on in, because the water is fine.

This year-round recreation hot spot features a number of shaded picnic tables, a lush, green lawn to play around on and barbecue pits for families or friends to make good use of. For boaters, there’s a convenient ramp with trailer parking, and the lake is also shared with canoers, kayakers, and paddleboard enthusiasts, with plenty of local rentals nearby. And if you come out this way in August, you can catch the LakeFest drag boat races with speeds upwards of 260 miles per hour and competitors from across the US! The Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce provides updates regarding the race schedule on their Facebook page, and tickets can be purchased in advance for this August 11-13 event on Stubwire.

Besides the lake that it’s attached to, Lakeside Park also features a fantastic swimming pool area with a wading pool and water features for small children, and a diving board into the deep end for older kids. Operating schedule for the pool is May through August, and admission fee details can be found on the park’s official website. There are also tennis and basketball courts if parents want to get a little competition going with the kids. In wintertime, although each of these facilities is closed, the park still becomes a great place to gather when it transforms into the Walkway of Lights – the Marble Falls’ annual Christmas lighting display given as a gift to the community from the city.

Still not enticed to make the trip to Lakeside Park? Rest assured you won’t be disappointed when the completion of a new hotel and lakeside conference facility takes place adjacent to the park. Plans for the development of this facility, in addition to new boardwalks, gardens, an amphitheater, fountains, and a covered bridge, are set to break ground in April of this year, and revenue generated by the facility will be reinvested by the city back into the park for future enjoyment. Lakeside Park, Marble Falls in the Texas Hill Country is a great place to hang out and have fun, throughout all four seasons of the year.
