The vast influx of families moving into the Hill Country has brought an incursion of realtors and real estate companies attempting to take advantage of the unprecedented growth. However, local companies remain the prime choice for many newcomers, as having someone on your side who has firsthand knowledge of neighborhoods and amenities is always preferable. Landmasters Real Estate is one of those companies rooted and grounded in the area. Andy and Natalie Virdell are part of a long tradition of realtors dating back to Andy’s grandfather Herb Stehling, now 92 years old, who founded Landmasters in 1975 in Sunrise Beach. Herb was a land developer and needed a vehicle to sell his lots. At 90, he is still developing the last phase of The Hills of Shady Grove, a development in the City of Burnet. Andy’s parents, Mark and Sherrie Virdell, bought Landmasters from Sherrie’s dad, Herb, in 1994. Andy and Natalie eventually purchased the Kingsland and Llano locations, and Andy is now the third-generation broker of Landmasters Real Estate.

Andy Virdell grew up immersed in the real estate business and recalls hearing stories of deal negotiations around the dinner table when he was young. As a result, he always knew he would be in the real estate business. After graduating from Texas Tech with a real estate finance degree, he began working for a preferred developer of a national retailer. He traveled to states like New Mexico and Arizona, finding off-market land deals for new Tractor Supply stores and handling the due diligence on the properties, often including attending city council meetings to deal with zoning issues. Andy and his wife Natalie eventually grew weary of traveling, but Andy considers that period educational, laying the foundation for him as a real estate broker. Natalie taught school for a time, and Andy began working full-time as an agent for his parents, Mark and Sherrie Virdell. After a few years, Andy and Natalie both became licensed brokers, working together to further deepen Landmaster’s success in the Llano and Highland Lakes market.

Landmasters’ expertise extends to Lake LBJ, Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, Lake Marble Falls, and the entirety of Llano, Burnet County, and surrounding counties. In addition, they have represented the sale of large ranches and innumerable exceptional lakefront homes. The team at Landmasters is comprised of knowledgeable agents with years of experience who honor the history and tradition that Herb Stehling began in Sunrise Beach in 1975. Past clients have described agents at Landmasters as going above and beyond in their diligence to market and sell properties for the highest price and obtain the best terms for their clients. Others describe the process as being unhurried without pressure but intently focused on the goal with professionalism and integrity.

Hill Country continues to be a destination for families nationwide. Andy and Natalie Virdell and the staff at Landmasters Real Estate want to continue contributing to the community and helping people fulfill their dreams. Andy’s land acquisition and development background has been instrumental in assisting with the development and brokerage of The Drace, one of the newest waterfront subdivisions on Lake LBJ. With twenty-three agents, Landmasters has completed over $1.5 billion in property sales. Andy and Natalie are deeply involved in the community. Andy is President of the Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce and on the board of the Llano Music Fest. In addition, Natalie is on the boards of the Llano Lions Club and Llano’s Boys and Girls Club.
