Whimsical Live Oak Trees Define This Texas Community

Every quarter, you can join the smiling faces of the Live Oak Police Department for coffee and chatting. A great time to encourage strength within the community and calm the stigma between law enforcement and citizens. This event takes place at various local coffee shops and often has surprise guests. The next Coffee with Cops event will be in October at a location to be announced on the City’s Facebook page.

Shin Dig on Shin Oak is perhaps one of the greatest community days out on the books. The events planned please everyone from the smallest of child, who gets thrills at Touch a Truck — an up close and personal experience with firefighters and a fully functional rig — to their grandparents and parents, who get the opportunity to see The Spazmatics live. The Spazmatics have taken the country by storm with their amazing covers of popular ’80s music and are dressed to the T in the finest ’80s clothing. This event is like the best block party you could create and then multiplied by 100. If that is not reason enough to grab you camp chairs and head out, this is also BYOB and FREE!! You don’t have to be a Live Oak resident to beat the Texas heat at the local swimming pool — it’s come one, come all, for a only small fee. Any given day during the summer season, you’re welcome to swing by and hop on a chair for some much-needed relaxation. But, there are also many special events! Out of the box fun ranges from Swim-N-S’mores to Family Night Out at the pool.
If you’re running out of ideas to keep the kids busy for the summer, just follow the City of Live Oak on Facebook or Instagram for fun community, typically free or darned near free, events!
