Not all heroes wear tights and have a cape and Luke Bryan knows that better than anyone. He recently acknowledged the Spring Hill Fire Department of Tennessee as a group of heroes, for their community spirit and dedication in volunteering to fight the recent East Tennessee wildfires.

Surprising the firemen at their annual Christmas celebration, which was being held at a local Mexican restaurant, Bryan donated a signed guitar towards a fundraising auction the department was involved in, hung out with the group, and signed autographs. He acknowledged the part they played in volunteering to fight the recent wildfires in Sevier County just after Thanksgiving; just one of the many heroic and deserving departments.

Responsible for the deaths of 14, and displacement of so many more, the East Tennessee wildfires destroyed more than 2000 homes and businesses. The Times Free Press had reported that 12 local fire departments responded to the call for help, and many more from further out, including those from Spring Hill. The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency confirmed that hundreds of firefighters, state, as well as local personnel, and the National Guard were all employed at fighting the blaze and checking on residents; clearly a concerted effort.
