It happened at the Charlie Daniels’ 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam! Luke Bryan gave what looks to be a slap in the face to a crude and rude concertgoer at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday.

The official statement from Luke Bryan’s camp which was given to Taste of Country in a recent interview identifies, “A man in the front row was making crude hand gestures toward Luke during his performance. It was insulting not only to him, but more importantly to the men, women and families sitting around him who were there to support and celebrate Charlie Daniels and the efforts of raising money for the military veterans — some of whom were in the audience. The concert security personnel saw the man’s disruptive actions of the event and he was escorted out.”

The man began making lude gestures towards Bryan during the show, to which the country singer promptly walked towards him, leaned out and slapped him across the face.

Part of the all-star lineup for the 80th birthday bash, Bryan performed a number of his hits to an appreciative crowd not only as a tribute to Charlie Daniels but also in a fundraising effort for the Journey Home Project, an organization designed to help veterans’ personal lives.
