Luxury Cars From Drug Mill To Be Auctioned Off in Austin This Weekend

By  |

In May,  doctors Dr. John Patrick Couch and Dr. Xiulu Ruan were sentenced to over 200 months in prison for illegally prescribing opioids and taking kickbacks from the pill manufacturer in an Alabama pill mill operation. Now, their extravagant luxury cars and jewelry are going up for bid in an auction held this weekend in Austin, Texas. KXAN writes that the auction will go on “…Saturday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. at the Hilton Austin Airport located at 9515 Hotel Dr.”

According to the Gaston & Sheehan Auctioneers website, the goods will include “…Forfeited Fine Jewelry, Watches, Diamonds & 21 Luxury Autos to include: 06 Saleen S7, 09 Spyker C8 Laviolette, 05 Mercedes SLR, 07 Ferrari 599 GTB, 08 Lamborghini Murcielago, 11 Audi R8 Spyder, 13 Mercedes SLS AMG GT, 15 Porsche 911 & More.”

Pre-bidding has already started online, which you can take a look at here. Also, you can view the Gaston & Sheehan YouTube page to catch a glimpse at the over-the-top cars available. Seeing all of the vehicles and diamonds together really drives home how much these two doctors abused the system to accumulate material things.

In a press release, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Alabama Charles Andrew stated that the money from the auction will go back to the healthcare providers who were defrauded by the two doctors’ scams.
