Plan Accordingly: Macy’s Will Open on Thanksgiving for Sales
Halloween hasn’t even passed by yet, but stores and shoppers are already buzzing about Black Friday deals. This year, Macy’s plans on opening up their doors for sales starting on Thanksgiving itself instead of waiting until Black Friday. So if Macy’s is one of your favorite stops, it might already be a little picked over if you wait until Friday morning!
KXAN says that this isn’t the first time that Macy’s has opened up so early. Since Thanksgiving 2013 they’ve welcomed customers on “turkey day” starting at 8:00 p.m., but this year, they’re planning on welcoming crowds at 5:00 p.m. At prime dinner time, this probably interferes with most people’s Thanksgiving meal and subsequent nap plans, so shoppers should plan accordingly.
BlackFriday.com writes, “The Macy’s Black Friday sale started it all. In fact, the retailer held its first Black Friday sales event in 1924, a week after the first Macy’s Parade. Since then, the department store has been at the forefront of deals and steals on the Biggest Shopping Day of the Year.” If you want to stay up-to-date about Black Friday deals this year, head over to BlackFriday.com to see the list of products and places that already have 2017 plans in place.
