The final season of HGTV’s hit show “Fixer Upper” has come to a close, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get your full dose of Magnolia’s best. Day-Tripping to Waco, Texas brings you to the empire that is Magnolia from the “First Family of Renovation,” and their latest quest, Magnolia Table-“Where Everyone Has a Seat at the Table,” a unique catch phrase resonating throughout the restaurant.

Being a big fan of everything “Magnolia,” this Hill Country reporter decided on a little day-tripping fun. I ventured out to visit the newest sensation from Chip and Joanna Gaines and try those famous biscuits and jam they highlighted on the renovation episode for Magnolia table. The video below is a journey through the restaurant along with a few shots of the Silos sprinkled in to round out the adventure.

Season 5 of “Fixer Upper” was a profusion of impressive renovations with guest ranging from Magnolia employees to a popular fitness guru. It rounded out the series with a rockin’ makeover for a rockstar. But probably the most exciting episode was the complete redo of a long-standing part of Waco History for over 100 years, the Elite Cafe, now affectionally known as Magnolia Table.

Episode 12 of Season 5 highlighted a picturesque and grandiose garden added to the Gaines’ beautiful farmhouse. Litte did we know the farm-fresh ingredients would become a part of the delectable menu offerings at Magnolia Table.

You can’t help but be impressed as you drive up to the restaurant, which welcomes you with open arms from the highway with its old-fashioned sign. The picnic-like area off to the side is complete with a coffee bar, covered seating, and lush green area for the kids to play as you wait for your table to be ready. Once inside you feel as if you’ve stepped into a beautiful home where everything from the wooden beams, to the fireplace, to the leather pockets in which to place your phone all serve as testament to finely-crafted detail. Not to mention the opportunity to sit at a community table and share a meal with new friends you may have just met during your wait.

From the moment you step onto the grounds, you feel right at home among the friendly atmosphere as you meet folks who traveled near and far for a chance to sit at the table. They even have hosts doing fun trivia to keep you entertained as you wait. In the mood for some shopping? They have the perfect take-out area ready to serve you while you look for that one-of-kind memento to take home.

I recommend the “Kind Breakfast,” a delicious offering of scrambled eggs, toast, avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes. Savor the delicious taste while you think back on scenes from the garden episode and reminisce with fellow fans. Don’t be surprised if you see Joanna’s mom greeting guests and kindly taking photos to make their trip all the more memorable as it did mine. So don’t fret that the show is over, but bask in the beauty of the Silos, the sweetness of the bakery, and now the scrumptious food to be had at Magnolia Table, “Where Everyone Has a Seat at the Table.”
