Man Manages to Make a Guitar Out of a Shotgun

By  |

This week, Rev. Peyton of Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band uploaded a video of himself playing a very unique guitar. He demonstrates what it sounds like playing a combination of a shotgun and a guitar with a new instrument he’s dubbed a “guitgun.”

The custom oddity was made by Bryan Fleming. According to Fleming’s website, he makes loud guitar pickups and cigar box guitars. He writes, “Most parts are hand crafted in house, and each pickup is handwound by me on a machine of my own design. Each is slightly unique, but every one comes packed full of mojo!”

The video already has over 780K views, and people are fascinated by the distinctively strange sound of the guitar and Rev. Peyton’s ability to multitask. He manages to take aim and shoot at a water jug while playing a guitgun solo! He hardly misses a beat and continues playing.

“This is the most American thing I’ve seen. Rock ‘n’ roll and guns,” YouTube commenter Peaceoo8 wrote. It doesn’t seem like the easiest and most comfortable instrument to play, but there’s something simultaneously silly and ambitious about this guitar/gun mash-up that makes it so interesting to watch. With over 11K “thumbs up,” it seems many people agree.
