In San Antonio, police officers arrested a homeless man for stealing $10,000 – $15,000 worth of tools from homes in the Dignowity Historic District just east of downtown San Antonio.

Residents from the historic district reported the burglaries. Luckily, they were able to provide law enforcement with videos and photos from surveillance cameras on their properties. MySA reports that San Antonio Police Department Sgt. Val Garcia said these visual pieces of evidence were incredibly helpful to link the suspect to the crime.

The alleged burglar wore a construction vest and hardhat to appear as though he was doing construction work when he stole the expensive tools. After police saw the photos, the man was soon tracked down and put under arrest without incident. None of the items have shown up in pawn shops in the area yet. The residents of Dignowity Historic District haven’t gotten their items that were found after the arrest quite yet, but officials say they’re working on getting the hand tools back home to their rightful owners.
