Marble Falls’ LakeFest 2016 marks the 25th year that the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce transforms Lake Marble Falls into a liquid, quarter-mile racetrack. You can feel the powerful roar of the engines and the vibrations in your chest as over 100 boats race to reach speeds of over 260 mph and turn the banks of the lake into a wild three-day boat race party. It’s a Hill Country party you won’t want to miss!

The boat races start on Friday, August 12, with first and second rounds of qualifying. Followed by a free Show n’ Shine in Johnson Park, where spectators can get meet the drivers and see the boats up close. Fans will have a chance to buy official t-shirts, posters for autographs, and photo opportunities with the stars of the show. The highlight of the evening comes at dusk as top-fuelers “fire up”, shooting flames out their exhaust pipes. There will be musical entertainment immediately after.

Saturday starts with two rounds of qualifying. After the races are over for the day, spectators can stay for shore side events including the beer garden, concerts, Raminator rides, and much more!

Sunday’s finals start with racing at 9 a.m. followed by opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. Immediately afterwards, top-fuel boats will thrill huge crowds with astonishing speeds that can top 260 miles per hour. The day ends with over $100,000 in prize money given to the winners.

As with any festival, there will be plenty of food, drinks, merchandise, and vendors to visit between races. Outside alcohol, food, drinks, pets, skateboards, umbrellas, and canopies are not allowed on festival grounds.

Gates open daily at 7 a.m. with the races starting at 9 a.m.
