Matthew McConaughey Drives Shocked UT Students Home

By  |

“Longhorns take care of each other, and it’s ‘safe’ to say Matthew McConaughey agrees,” The University of Texas Student Government wrote. Earlier this week, the Texas movie star took part in one of UT’s programs called SURE Walk. It’s run by the Students United for Rape Elimination and the initiative aims to “protect the students, provide peace-of-mind when studying late at night, and ensure safety for all” by offering a safe journey from campus to a student’s home from the hours of 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Of course, when McConaughey supported the organization, he did so in his own unique way. He surprised students by picking them up in a golf cart. The video below shows how shocked the students were to see their unlikely driver!

When The University of Texas Student Government posted the photo of McConaughey in action the post gained a lot of attention. It currently has about 3,000 reactions, and some fun comments. Tito Drummond seemed to know just what to say about the situation. “Hope nobody needs to turn left. Because that golf cart is only going alright, alright, alright…” he wrote.
