In the gardens, ponds dotted with lily pads are homes to turtles lazing on exposed rocks. Native plants and flowers infuse the peaceful gardens and the curvy mulch-covered paths invite guests to meander with the birds. Folks with a green thumb are encouraged to adopt a garden or volunteer to help out with gardening chores.
In addition, to the two-acre cottage and stone fenced area, an additional 21-acre nature preserve offers the opportunity for longer hikes. The nature preserve is in a state of constant improvement as the Friends of Mayfield Preserve work to remove invasive plant species and restore the area’s native environment.
