MercyMe Takes Top Honors at the 48th Annual GMA Dove Awards

GRAMMY-nominated, chart-topping Gospel group MercyMe took top honors at this year’s  GMA Dove Awards held on October 17, 2017. The Multi-platinum selling band also received a sixth American Music Award nod according to their press release. “Fans can vote for the AMAs on Billboard.com.”

They received multiple honors at the 48th Annual GMA Dove Awards including winning “the notable Artist Of The Year, alongside Pop/Contemporary Album Of The Year (Lifer) and Songwriter of the Year Artist (Bart Millard).” The band performed their nominated mega-hit “Even If” “which dominated the Billboard and Mediabase radio charts with a 19-week streak at No. 1.”

Blazing through a landmark year, MercyMe has resonated with millions of fans with hits such as “Even If’,” “Dear Younger Me,” and catchy tunes such as “Shake” and the recently released “Happy Dance.” “I Can Only Imagine” is a crowd favorite which is set to release a movie based on the true story of the life of Bart Millard, who wrote the mega-hit song after the loss of his father to cancer. The movie hits theaters March 16, 2018.
