If you’ve ever wondered how to mix the best bacon margaritas in Texas, here’s your chance to learn. There’s nothing better than a salty margarita as an end of day relaxer, and this is the saltiest (and most delicious) version that we’ve had the pleasure of enjoying.

Ingredients:

1 strip peppered bacon
.75 oz. agave nectar/lime juice mix
2 oz. bacon-infused tequila
1 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec
1 lime wheel

Instructions:

First, you’ll want to cook that fat pound of bacon you just picked up at the store, and the fat from it? That’s what you’ll pour in to the bottle of tequila. It’ll be to your own taste, but we recommend about half a cup to start.

Leave the bottle of tequila in the freezer overnight. When you’re ready for margaritas, you’ll want to squeeze some fresh lime juice — don’t go for the pre-made stuff at the store. Slice another lime into quarters, one of these is what’s called a wheel. If your tequila is of the expensive variety, we recommend Contrieau for your orange liqueur, but Triple Sec will do just fine. Pour an ounce of that in along with three quarters of an ounce agave nectar/lime juice into your shaker, along with two ounces of that bacon-infused tequila from your freezer. Shake it all up real nice and get ready.

If you prefer the rim of your glass salted, you might want to dip it in bacon grease first, because bacon is awesome. Add ice to your glass, pour the contents of your shaker, toss in that strip of bacon, and garnish the glass with a lime wheel. Now you have a baco-rita.
