In April 2010, Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio opened their doors to people of all backgrounds to come in and experience their thoughtful mission of “a safe, clean and beautiful environment free of physical and economic barriers that all individuals – regardless of age, special need or disability.”

Now, the creators of Morgan’s Wonderland have unveiled a new water park with the same wonderful mission. The next-door park called Inspiration Island is a colorful, safe, and welcoming escape from the summer heat. The vibrant location features five different splash pad sites, a seven-story lighthouse, a River Boat Adventure Ride, and snazzy waterproof wheelchairs for those who need them.

In a press release, Morgan’s Wonderland officials want visitors to know that Inspiration Island isn’t “a special needs park.” It’s an amusement park that’s purposefully “built for everyone’s enjoyment” where each guest can feel included in the fun.

KSAT says, “The park will be open daily throughout the summer until mid-August, and on weekends after thereafter.” Tickets are available online here, and come with “Group ID and code embedded band to auto-track and locate all group/family members plus Instant free photo-captures at several park features, sent instantly to you through e-mail.”
