Last week, Global News’ Leslie Horton brought a treat for her co-anchors to taste on air. She admitted as soon as she opened the container holding the greenish-yellow artichoke dip that it didn’t turn out looking like it was supposed to. And it definitely didn’t taste like a mouth-watering appetizer should.

Two of her coworkers were curious and polite enough to attempt the gooey mistake, and their faces show the pain many of us who have family members who cannot cook know well. It’s the grimace of enduring something you know you’ll taste for days, but you can’t risk hurting someone’s feelings.

Fortunately in this case, they were able to tell Horton exactly how they felt about her concoction since she knew she was torturing them. As YouTube commenter goal2004 pointed out, she probably used pickled artichokes, which would explain the strong taste of vinegar, and possibly the burning sensation.

Dylan Lollar also commented on the video saying, “For any Americans who may be watching; Yes. This is ACTUALLY the most important news we ever have.” Perhaps we should start watching Canadian news every once in a while.
