NLand Surf Park: Coming to Austin in 2016

To make the addition of this exciting attraction sweeter to Austin residents, NLand Surf Park will not be using tax payer’s dollars as it is a privately funded park. In addition, the park founders are using local Austin-based companies for the design and construction of the park. “NLand Surf Park will be a great addition to Central Texas,” Travis County Commissioner Margaret Gómez said. “The tax revenue and job opportunities will make a difference for the people of Del Valle.”
Now there will be no need to travel to the ocean and wait for the perfect wave to form. NLand Surf Park will bring the ocean, and the perfect waves, to the Hill Country. “Historically, surfing has been limited to those lucky enough to have access to the coastline. Formerly, to go surfing required a beach, daylight , and specific swell and weather conditions. Now, with our technology we can provide an authentic surfing experience far away from the ocean,” adds Josema Odriozola, Wavegarden’s founder and CEO. NLand Surf Park is currently being constructed and is expected to open sometime this year.
