Any Texan worth their salt has (in the very least) heard of this iconic park on the edge of the Texas Hill Country. The park draws many people every year to its coveted location along the banks of the Frio River. Camping at Garner State Park is a rite of passage as well and is made easy with everything from tent sites to modern cabins available for those looking to reconnect with nature.

There is nothing fancy about camping at the Hill Country State Natural Area, but what this park lacks in luxury, it more than makes up for in natural beauty. With over 5,000 acres of plateaus and creek beds, the Hill Country State Natural Area is a primitive camper’s paradise.
As always, the weather during springtime in Texas can be finicky and “turn on a dime.” Before embarking on any outdoor adventure like hiking, biking, or camping adventures, keep your eyes on the weather and plan accordingly for anything from torrential rain to even possibly snow flurries! No matter what the weather has in store for you, there is always a great outdoor adventure to be had in the unique landscape of the Texas Hill Country.
