These Senior Dogs Had Nowhere Else to Live, But This Country Home Gave Them a Second Chance

The Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, is bringing happiness and comfort to senior dogs without homes.

A non-profit, all-volunteer organization, the Old Friends Sanctuary works to provide a comfortable and loving home for dogs in their twilight years who have no owners. Their mission, taken from the Facebook page, is to simply “provide a loving home, good food, high quality vet care, compassion, and comfort to senior dogs for the remainder of their lives.”

The organization makes a point to state that there is no limit placed on the dogs — they don’t care about the illness of a pup or how much time they may have left. They simply want to enrich the lives of the senior dogs and make them feel as loved as humanly possible in their twilight years.

They also promote the adoption of their senior dogs, but only after an intense application process. The worst thing for the pups would be to go without an owner again after coming to Old Friends.

The home has over 45 dogs currently and have adopted out at least 90 into forever homes around the state of Tennessee.

If you have a senior pup, hold them tight. You are their source of love and happiness.
