Try a Taste of Oreo Beer at the State Fair of Texas This Year

Consuming decadent food oddities are part of the State Fair of Texas experience. And what better way is there to wash down a Funnel Cake Bacon Queso Burger than a glass of Oreo Beer?

Oreo Beer contains a rich medley of flavors. ABC 13 describes it as “…an American stout with flavors of vanilla, brown sugar, cream, and roasted coffee.” It’s topped off with a cookie, crumbs, and more cream filling. Pop Sugar says this isn’t the first time the Oreo and beer combination was dreamt up. The Veil Brewing Company released their own take last year, but the State Fair of Texas concoction, made by Barrera’s, differs greatly than the Veil’s chocolate milk stout.

But the real question on everyone’s mind is how does it taste? It seems like the drink is getting mixed reviews from those ambitious enough to try it. Instagram user @_survivingoncoffeeandcusswords wrote, “Surprisingly it wasn’t THAT bad however it wasn’t the best. I guess throwing an Oreo in a beer and smearing some cream and cookie crumbs around a cup with beer inside it makes its Oreo beer!” On the other side of the spectrum, @__eblizzabeth said, “The #oreobeer at the State Fair of Texas was amaaaaazing…so so good.”
