Party On the Plaza as Dallas Kicks Off New Decade

By  |

A new decade begins in 2020! And Dallas starts a new tradition, kicking off the next decade in grand style with Party on the Plaza. This unique New Year’s Eve event is sponsored by the Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District (DTPID) and produced by VisitDallas.

Party on the Plaza is the official countdown to the legendary Reunion Tower Over the Top NYE 2019 fireworks show, and it’s free to attend. Everyone is invited to help ring in the New Year while the Dallas skyline is outlined in a blaze of color. Local TV personalities Ron Corning and Yolanda Williams will emcee the New Year’s Eve party.

Greg White, Chairman of DTPID, said, “Dallas is a city known for its glitz and glamour. We are so lucky to have Reunion Tower help us ring in the New Year in this festive way. I am so glad the DTPID can play a part in bringing the joy of 2020 to so many.”

Party on the Plaza Free Entertainment

Enjoy free entertainment by Dallas-based Jason and Michael Castro, American Idol favorites. Additional musical entertainment will be provided by the popular ten-piece Emerald City Elevation Band. Food, beer and wine are available for sale from 20 or more of the city’s best food trucks. All these activities lead up to the unforgettable fireworks show, one of the best in Texas, seen from the best seat in town.

Party on the Plaza festivities run from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Join the fun at City Hall Plaza, 1500 Marilla St, in downtown Dallas.

As in years past, DART is partnering with MillerCoors to fund free rides on all DART and TRE service to encourage responsible drinking. Rides start at 6 p.m. December 31, with service ending New Year’s Day, January 1, 2020.
