Pepper Maple Bacon Wraps for When You’re Feeling Snackish

Who doesn’t like pepper, maple, or bacon? These quick and easy appetizers are always a hit, especially with men!

They are delicious hot or cold and can be stored in a glass jar (not plastic). And can be reheated if you prefer. The only time-consuming thing is wrapping the bacon around the cracker. But the compliments you’ll glean will be worth the boring stuff.

Pepper Maple Bacon Wraps

Ingredients:

1 pound lean breakfast bacon (I prefer Oscar Meyer Center Cut)
1 box Keebler Club Crackers
Fresh ground pepper
Maple Syrup

Directions:

Cut bacon slices in thirds. Wrap 1/3 strip of bacon around the center of each cracker. You can use a toothpick to secure, but I find the bacon cooks together and no extra step is required.

Place individual wrapped crackers in a single layer on a rack in a foil lined baking pan. I’m always thinking…one less pan to wash. Brush the top of each strip of bacon with the maple syrup of your choice and sprinkle with ground pepper.

Bake in slow oven—275 or 300 degrees—until bacon is done. About 30 minutes.

Be creative. I like these wraps just as well without the maple syrup. But what else could you use? How about some hot sauce instead—not a bunch—just a smidge. Or a sprinkle of crushed rosemary? Or a little blackened seasoning? You could even sprinkle with a bit of grated parmesan cheese during the last 10 minutes cook time.

They’re addictive! Bet your guests will flip a coin for the last one.
