A Canadian firefighter recently paid $300 for pizza order to a Texas firehouse or shelter after an accident in his Google search. From his location in Alberta, Canada, the Lesser Slave Regional Fire Service firefighter placed a pizza order from a Texas shop while he was 2,000 miles from the Lone Star State. He had intended to buy a pizza from a local shop to serve attendees of a Canadian post-traumatic stress disorder seminar, but instead he ended up paying it forward.
Jordan Lampertz works for the Lesser Slave Regional Fire Service in Alberta. He did a Google search for a local pizzeria by the name of Alimo’s, or so he thought. Instead, he accidentally reached Alamo’s, located in San Antonio, Texas, although he didn’t realize it until receiving a phone call from an area code he didn’t recognize.

In an interview with CTV news, Lampertz explained, “I went to the Google search and a little light bulb went off and sure enough I’d ordered from San Antonio, Texas.” As a result, he didn’t decline to pay for the pizza order, but instead, processed the $300 bill for his pizza and requested that Alamo’s deliver them to a local shelter or firehouse. Alamo’s owner, Fred Nunez, was also interviewed by CTV and said that he happily told Lampertz, “I’ll go ahead and get them out there for you.” As a result, some San Antonio police officers as well as two local firehouses enjoyed the free meal just last week.

The Lesser Slave Regional Fire Service took to its Facebook page after the incident saying: “Today we are hosting a talk about PTSD and being able to reach out to your fellow coworkers for assistance. Well, we took that a little serious today, here Firefighters from Station 25 in San Antonio Texas are enjoying pizza on us. Did you know there is an Alimos in Texas?? Well, there is and they deliver. Also firefighters from station 16 and some San Antonio Police officers are enjoying pizza on us. It was an honest mistake. And we made some Friends along the way. Reminder to check your google before calling.”
