Looking for something to listen to besides the radio and your inner thoughts? Podcasts have become popular alternatives to downtime and driving. A great podcast created in the Texas Hill Country by native Texans is Cheers To Business. John Kublank, who has parental entrepreneurial ties, and John Hill, who worked for a small New Braunfels business through high school and college, met in the MBA program at Howard Payne University. Both were the guys in class that talked a lot! Desiring to maintain the same spirit and discussion levels after graduation, married with the popularity and flexibility of podcasting, Cheers To Business was born.

Their show focuses around one small business per podcast, allowing listener insight into the thoughts and experiences of owners as they describe their motivation, process, marketing strategies, and more. Kublank and Hill’s ultimate objective is to provide quality content and community value. Currently, their average is 102 listens per episode, with an audience ranging geographically between Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels, Houston, and internationally in Germany and Australia. Constantly striving to improve the communication of their message, John and John manage full-time jobs in addition to the podcast, while finding efficiencies in every aspect, much like the business owners they interview.

Cheers To Business is truly a passion project and a great forum to learn about local businesses, like the perils of serving commercial beer to a craft brewer! John and John often find that their guests are humbled, almost shy about showcasing their dedication and hard work. As podcasters, they truly see the potential of the media and are working to start a few more podcasts. One such example is a new humorous show called “MomOhSA!” (pronounced Mimosa), all about what being a Mom entails. They are also always looking to find their next guest, whether locally or perhaps in Dallas or Houston for a few shows. Recently, Cheers to Business was recorded at Natural Bridge Caverns! Listen today and learn something about your Texas community.
