The Texas State Railroad has started its annual service to the North Pole on The Polar Express! Starting November 11 and running through December 27, they work to bring the magical story to life for each passenger from the moment the train leaves the Palestine Depot, and your family can still experience this wonderful holiday pastime.

Surrounded by as much of the motion picture as possible (including the opportunity to ride in your jammies while listening to the soundtrack), passengers can relive its magic while they’re whisked away on The Polar Express. Chefs provide hot chocolate service together with fresh-baked cookies, and the classic children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg is recited en route. (Riders can also purchase the book with their ticket in order that their child can read along with the chefs if they like.) Once the train arrives at the North Pole, Santa and his elves are there to greet the passengers, boarding the train with gifts for all the children – a silver sleigh bell for each. And, on the trip back to The Polar Express train depot, all of the chefs lead the passengers in the singing of Christmas carols!

The journey takes place on select dates, which are available at the link provided here. Fares and travel times are also provided at this site. There are also choices for an exclusive 24-seat Presidential Car where riders receive keepsake Polar Express mugs, First Class with table-top seating for parties of four, and Coach, with large viewing windows out of which kids can catch their first glimpse of the North Pole and Santa as it pulls into the station. Regardless of seat selection, you and the kids are likely to have a great Christmas adventure riding the Polar Express from the Texas State Railroad!
