When Officers Lee and Jones were called to address a complaint about a homemade water slide in a neighborhood in Asheville, North Carolina, they probably didn’t think they would be joining in on the Fourth of July festivities. As CBS DFW writes, once the officers arrived, they realized that the slip-and-slide was perfectly safe and wasn’t blocking any public roads. And is there a better way to cool off in the summer heat?

“We looked at it and determined it wasn’t really an issue. So the first thing I said, I said I’m not here to break up your fun,” Officer Lee said in a video tweeted by the local police department.

Neighbor Chuckie Velvet also posted two videos to social media. He caught images of the block party and of the two officers taking a trip down the slide for his Facebook page. Officer Lee chose to ride the slide down in a plastic bag, feet first, while Officer Jones took a different approach. He hitched a ride on a tube along with a neighborhood kid and sent the pair sailing down the water slide. When he reached the end, he admitted to the laughing crowd, “My butt is wet.”
