The wild weather in Texas has cleared (at least for a while), and it’s time to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and warmth of the Texas outdoors. While sitting by the pool you may want to enjoy a Prickly Pear Margarita, this is no ordinary margarita, it’s a Texas margarita!
3 ounces tequila blanco
½ ounce Cointreau (or any other brand of triple sec)
1 ½ ounce lime juice
2 ounces Prickly Pear Syrup
Kosher salt
Kumquats and or peeled lime for garnish
On the Rocks
Combine tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and pear syrup in a cocktail shaker. Shake well. Wet rim of cocktail glass and dip into salt. Pour margarita into cocktail glass with ice. Garnish with Kumquats and or peeled lime for garnish.
Frozen
Combine tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and pear syrup with ice. Mix in blender on high speed. Wet rim of cocktail glass and dip into salt. Pour margarita cocktail into glass. Garnish with Kumquats and or peeled lime for garnish.
Yield: 1 margarita
