Puppy Defends Owner From Potential Attack in The Woodlands
Catalina Humphrey had no idea that her Rottweiler puppy named Hercules would become her hero at only ten months old. According to KHOU, the pair were taking a stroll on Saturday afternoon along the Sawmill trail in the Grogan’s Mill community in the Woodlands when a man came up behind her and yanked on her shoulder.
Humphrey told the news that Hercules sprung into action instantly. “He went around behind me and attacked him. I fell down. I was surprised because he’s sweet and loving. I didn’t know he would exhibit that side of him,” she said.
Fox 26 said that Hercules bit the man several times who then ran off cursing, leaving a trail of blood. Humphrey added that she wasn’t carrying a purse, but she instinctively felt that the man who grabbed her was up to something malicious. He even left a scratch on her shoulder.
Authorities were able to get the man’s DNA from swabbing Hercules’s mouth, but police do not have any reason to believe he is connected to any other crimes in the area. If you have any information on the incident, please call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800.
