Quince Expo Held in Houston for Quinceañera Inspiration

On January 22nd, the Bayou City Event Center held the Quince Expo, an event that brought together dress designers, food vendors, party planners, party supply makers and DJs under one roof for parents and their daughters to attend to aid in planning a perfect quinceañera.

Quinceañeras are very special events that girls have when they’re turning 15. The tradition originates from Latin America, and the special birthday is cause for a big celebration where the 15-year-old gets passes from childhood into adulthood and gets to express her personal tastes through the decorations and, of course, an incredible dress.

At the Quince Expo, an event held twice a year, planners hope that girls and their parents will meet the best designers and find their dream dresses. According to a photo story by ABC 13, “Founder and owner Raul Jaurez says you will find the best of the best for your quinceanera and sweet 16…Glitter Houston provided the quinceanera gowns.”

In the photos below that were taken at the event, one can see how fun and unique each dress can be. Unlike a wedding dress where people feel as though they must pick a shade of white, quinceañera dresses can come in a huge array of colors paired with floral designs and even horses!
